Partnership with Parents

We understand the importance of parent partnership therefore we place a very great emphasis on our relationships with parents. You have legitimate expectations of us to teach your children well and to a high standard, to keep them safe and secure; look after their welfare, and to keep you informed. We also have expectations of parents and remind you that in sending your child to St Margaret Clitherow’s Roman Catholic Primary School, you agree to support all our aims and policies.

We have been very fortunate to have had great support from our parents and this has benefited our pupils immensely. We always strive to build upon these special relationships as we understand the positive effect they have on our pupils. This partnership is reflected in parents’ prompt response to communications, attendance at Parents’ Evening, financial contributions and voluntary work for the ‘Friends of St Margaret’s’. This support over time is a crucial element of our strength and success as a school.

Attendance

Pupils must attend every day (unless there are exceptional circumstances such as sickness) and they must arrive at school on time. Children should not be taken on holidays in term time. Medical and other appointments should, if at all possible, be outside the normal school day. If appointments are taken during school time, a letter must be provided prior to the appointment. Pupils must be in correct uniform at all times.

Reports

Reports are issued annually. Copies should be retained by parents and a check made for progress over time. Parents will be invited to an appointment every term (3 times a year) to meet with the class teacher to discuss their child's progress.

School Brochure

The School Brochure will give you plenty of information about the school. It covers curriculum areas, running of the school and who works in the school.

There are many questions you may have about St Margaret Clitherow, hopefully they should be answered in this brochure. If not then please do not hesitate to contact the school office
